Advenica launches USB malware scanner for organizations

Cybersecurity firm Advenica oy has introduced the File Scanner Kiosk, a new device designed to scan USB drives for malware before they are connected to secure networks.

9 October 2026

Cybersecurity firm Advenica oy has launched a new solution, the File Scanner Kiosk, engineered to prevent malware from entering organizational IT systems via USB drives.

Organizations commonly rely on USB drives for data transfer, particularly in isolated or critical environments. However, these devices can serve as a hidden vector for malware propagation, potentially leading to significant security breaches, data theft, or operational disruptions.

The new File Scanner Kiosk acts as a dedicated, standalone system, serving as a controlled checkpoint between external media and internal networks. The device inspects all files found on USB drives, utilizing multiple antivirus engines. Only clean files are permitted to transfer to secure systems, while identified threats are automatically blocked.

This solution is particularly aimed at environments where USB usage cannot be entirely eliminated, such as industrial systems, critical infrastructure, and government or defense facilities. Advenica aims to enhance organizations' ability to manage data transfers securely and mitigate cyber threats.
