Adventist HealthCare Executive Vice President and System Chief Medical Officer Departs
Patsy McNeil, Executive Vice President and System Chief Medical Officer for Adventist HealthCare, will leave her role on November 6, 2026, to accept a position at Riverside Health. Her tenure saw improvements in clinical operations and patient safety across the system.
Gaithersburg, Maryland – Adventist HealthCare announced that Patsy McNeil, MD, MBA, FACEP, Executive Vice President and System Chief Medical Officer, will depart the organization on November 6, 2026. Dr. McNeil is moving to Riverside Health in Newport News, Virginia.
Dr. McNeil held a senior leadership position, overseeing enterprise clinical operations, quality, patient safety, and strategic healthcare transformation initiatives throughout Adventist HealthCare's network of hospitals, ambulatory care sites, and physician offices.

"Her leadership elevated quality and patient safety, strengthened physician partnerships, and helped position our system for the future. We are deeply grateful for her dedicated service."
During her time, Dr. McNeil led significant initiatives, including making Adventist HealthCare the only health system in Maryland where all hospitals received Leapfrog 'A' grades in Spring 2026. She also oversaw the system's clinical response to the COVID-19 pandemic, achieving a COVID inpatient mortality rate less than half the national average.
