AEM and ASE Partner to Advance AI and HPC Test Solutions

AEM Holdings Ltd. (AEM) has announced a strategic partnership with ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. (ASE), a major provider of semiconductor assembly, testing, and materials services. This collaboration aims to combine AEM's proprietary test technologies with ASE's manufacturing scale to develop advanced test solutions for the rapidly growing artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) sectors.

As part of the agreement, ASE's wholly owned subsidiary will subscribe for approximately S$12 million in new AEM shares through a private placement. ASE will also receive warrants for additional shares, exercisable under specific conditions. This transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

The proceeds from the private placement will support AEM's expansion in Taiwan and the integration of its test technologies into ASE's manufacturing and test environments. The funds will also be used to advance AEM's product development, enhance its system offerings, and accelerate joint go-to-market initiatives for next-generation AI and HPC applications.

The partnership will also bolster ASE's subsidiary, ISE Labs, in expanding its AI and HPC processor development capabilities. This includes supporting early-stage testing, validation, and characterization of complex chiplet and system-in-package designs essential for future computing platforms.
