Aeon Industrial Named to 2026 Austin Deep Tech 50

Defense manufacturer Aeon Industrial has been included in the inaugural 2026 Austin Deep Tech 50 list, which recognizes companies driving innovation and industrial growth in Central Texas. The selection follows significant defense contract awards and expansion of manufacturing operations.

Aeon Industrial, based in Austin, develops advanced missile systems, interceptors, and critical defense subsystems. The company has recently secured key defense contracts and initiated production of over 10,000 MERC electronic safe-and-arm devices. Additionally, Aeon was selected for the U.S. Army's interceptor challenge for its layered air and missile defense architecture.

"America needs a defense industrial base capable of producing advanced weapons at the scale and cost required to meet today's threats," said Naweed Tahmas, Founder and CEO of Aeon Industrial. The company is expanding its production at a new 140,000-square-foot facility in Cedar Park, Texas.

Aeon's product portfolio includes the Zeus tactical missile system and the MERC electronic safe-and-arm device. The company's vertically integrated manufacturing model aims to reduce costs and accelerate production.
