Aeron Systems Secures ₹45 Crore for Navigation and Weather Monitoring Systems

Pune-based deeptech company Aeron Systems has secured ₹45 crore (approximately $4.7 million) in a pre-Series B funding round, co-led by Riverwalk Holdings and MGF-Kavachh.

The company intends to allocate the funds towards scaling its manufacturing capacity for advanced inertial navigation systems, expediting research and development efforts, meeting increasing customer demand, and broadening its international market presence.

Founded in 2008 by Ashvani Shukla and Abhijeet Bokil, Aeron designs and manufactures inertial navigation and industrial IoT-based weather-monitoring systems. These systems cater to the aerospace, defense, renewable energy, and other industrial sectors. Its navigation systems are critical for determining the position and movement of aircraft, drones, missiles, and vehicles, particularly in environments where satellite navigation signals may be unavailable or disrupted.

Aeron Systems' product line includes inertial navigation systems, air data computers, weather sensors, and flight-test instrumentation. The company reports having deployed over 10,000 inertial systems and 2,500 weather stations globally, serving clients such as Hindustan Aeronautics, Bharat Electronics, and military branches of the Indian government.

The investment occurs amidst a growing demand for aerospace and defense technologies capable of operating in challenging environments, driven by factors like electronic warfare and signal disruption. This trend highlights an increasing investor interest in the deeptech sector, with India's market projected for significant growth.
