AEYE Health Wins 2026 Prix Galien Award for AI Diagnostic Technology
AEYE Health has received the 2026 Prix Galien USA award for its FDA-cleared AEYE-DS system, which automates screenings for diabetic eye disease.

AEYE Health and its CEO, Dr. Zack Dvey-Aharon, have been awarded the 2026 Prix Galien USA prize for Best Digital Health Solution. The award recognizes the company's development of AEYE-DS, a diagnostic system that uses artificial intelligence to identify signs of diabetic retinopathy during routine medical visits.
Diabetic retinopathy represents a primary cause of blindness among the working-age population. Traditional screening pathways often involve long wait times and reliance on specialist access, which contribute to low screening adherence. The AEYE-DS system, cleared by the FDA, functions autonomously to provide diagnostic results without requiring a physician to interpret retinal images.
Validation for the technology was established through three multicenter, phase-III clinical trials involving over 1,200 patients. Data from these studies indicated diagnostic sensitivity between 92% and 93% and specificity between 89% and 94%. The device is compatible with portable cameras, allowing it to be deployed in primary care settings beyond the ophthalmology office.
Currently, the solution is being integrated into electronic health record systems across various US healthcare networks. By simplifying the screening workflow and allowing for immediate documentation and referral, the technology aims to address barriers to preventative eye care.
