Agilent and PathAI Partner for AI-Powered Assay Development

Agilent Technologies has announced a strategic partnership with PathAI, a provider of AI-powered pathology research tools. The collaboration aims to deliver integrated solutions for biopharmaceutical organizations by combining Agilent's expertise in assay development with PathAI's algorithm development capabilities.

The partnership will enable biopharmaceutical companies to access an end-to-end solution for AI-powered assay development, including companion diagnostics utilizing digital pathology. Agilent will contribute its anatomical pathology workflow expertise, staining systems, and reagents, while PathAI will provide its proprietary algorithm development platform and AISight software. This integration is intended to streamline the development of AI-driven assays from the lab to the clinic.

Furthermore, Agilent has entered into a global distribution agreement to offer PathAI's AISight and AISight DX+ platforms, along with the AIM-PD-L1 NSCLC algorithm for quantifying PD-L1 in non-small cell lung cancer. Agilent may also commercialize future algorithms developed by PathAI. This move aligns with Agilent's vision of advancing precision medicine through open and flexible digital pathology solutions.

Both companies highlight the significance of artificial intelligence for the future of precision medicine. The partnership is expected to accelerate the development of novel diagnostic tools and therapeutic approaches, particularly in oncology.
