Agilent Expands Nucleic Acid Therapeutics Production Capacity in Colorado
Agilent Technologies has opened a new production facility in Frederick, Colorado, more than doubling its capacity to manufacture nucleic acid-based therapeutic molecules.

Agilent Technologies announced the opening of a new production facility in Frederick, Colorado, a move that more than doubles its capacity for developing and manufacturing "oligos." These short DNA and RNA molecules are used by customers to produce nucleic acid-based therapeutics, which hold potential for treating diseases like cancer and rare conditions.
The new facility is designed to meet growing market demand. Agilent projects the market for therapeutic oligo manufacturing to grow by nearly 10% annually through 2025, reaching over $750 million. This expansion ensures Agilent can support pharmaceutical and biotech companies in their development of novel therapies.
The state-of-the-art, 135,000-square-foot facility is located approximately 30 miles north of Denver. Customer shipments are expected to begin by the end of the year. The Frederick site complements Agilent's existing oligo manufacturing facility in nearby Boulder, which has been operational since 2006.
Agilent has invested $185 million in the Frederick facility, which operates under Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) standards, as designated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The company has already created approximately 100 high-paying jobs at the site and has indicated that further capacity expansion is possible based on customer demand.
