Agilent Introduces New Flow Cytometer

Agilent Technologies introduced its new NovoCyte Advanteon flow cytometer at the CYTO 2019 Congress in Vancouver. This marks Agilent's first new product release following the recent acquisition of ACEA Biosciences.

The instrument is designed to meet growing demands for advanced multi-color flow cytometry assays. It reportedly offers superior sensitivity, resolution, detection speed, and fluorescence channel flexibility, making it suitable for basic research, drug discovery, and clinical diagnostics.

The NovoCyte Advanteon can be configured with one, two, or three lasers and up to 21 fluorescence channels. The device is engineered to detect both dim and bright signals simultaneously, owing to its 7.2 log dynamic range. Its resolution is stated to be among the best on the market, capable of discerning particles as small as approximately 100 nanometers.

According to Agilent, the new instrument provides improved performance and automated compensation, aiming to ease user workflow. The accompanying analytical software is also designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, intended to accelerate the adoption of cell analysis methods across a broader range of applications. This launch is part of Agilent's strategy to deliver robust cell analysis solutions globally. The company anticipates the new cytometer will enhance customer experience and promote the use of flow cytometry in diverse applications.
