Agilent launches NovoCyte Opteon spectral flow cytometer
Agilent Technologies has introduced the NovoCyte Opteon, a spectral flow cytometer designed for cell analysis. The system supports up to 73 detectors and enables simultaneous analysis of over 40 markers.

Agilent Technologies has launched the NovoCyte Opteon spectral flow cytometer, aiming to enhance cell analysis capabilities for researchers. The new instrument is designed for applications ranging from basic research to drug discovery and therapy development.
The NovoCyte Opteon system offers configurations with three to five lasers and supports up to 73 detectors. This allows for the simultaneous analysis of more than 40 markers on cells, providing researchers with greater flexibility in designing complex flow cytometry assays.
Xiaobo Wang, Vice President and General Manager of Agilent’s Cell Function and Phenotyping Business, highlighted the system's user-friendly design. "The new NovoCyte Opteon couples the power of spectral flow cytometry with a highly intuitive analytical software package, streamlining workflow for high-dimensional, multi-parametric flow cytometry assays," Wang stated.
Flow cytometry is a critical technology used across academic institutions, biotech firms, and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Agilent announced it would officially unveil the NovoCyte Opteon at the CYTO 2024 Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, from May 4-8, 2024.
