Agilent Technologies has inaugurated a new facility, the Open-Biopharma Research Hub (ORCA), at Chungnam National University in Daejeon, South Korea. The hub is designed to enhance the country's biopharma innovation ecosystem by creating a collaborative platform for academic institutions, R&D organizations, and manufacturers.

The ORCA facility provides open access to Agilent's advanced systems for liquid-phase analysis, automation, genomics, and cell analysis. Operating under an 'Industry-on-Campus' open-access model, it will serve as a shared space for researchers across South Korea, also hosting hands-on workshops and joint programs involving multidisciplinary experts.

In addition to research collaboration, the hub will offer on-campus internships, providing training and technical mentorship from Agilent's global specialists to strengthen the next generation of biopharma talent. Chungnam National University President Kim Jeong-Kyeom stated that the partnership aims to bridge advanced academic research with industry-leading technology to catalyze breakthrough discoveries.

Bharat Bhardwaj, Agilent's VP of APAC Sales, described ORCA as a cornerstone of Agilent's customer-centric strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. The hub is intended to be a place where customers and Agilent experts can co-create, experiment, and translate ideas into scientific impact through advanced instrumentation, rapid iteration, and knowledge sharing.
