Agilent Technologies has secured a contract with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to deploy its new Bulk Resolution Technology (BRT) systems at passenger security checkpoints in U.S. host cities for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The technology is designed to screen larger quantities of liquids, powders, and solids encountered during airport security screening operations, aiming to enhance passenger throughput and security. The deployment is timed to ensure readiness for major international events.

Agilent's BRT system utilizes the company's proprietary Spatially Offset Raman Spectroscopy (SORS) technology combined with sophisticated algorithms. This allows for precise confirmatory screening of liquids, gels, creams, and powders through a wide variety of containers. The system is engineered to quickly and accurately resolve alarms, a critical function for busy airport environments.

This new technology joins Agilent's Insight Series of alarm resolution systems. The BRT is built to meet global requirements for screening liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs) and supports high-volume security screening. It is capable of detecting threats through challenging barriers, including opaque containers and multi-layered materials.

Agilent reported for fiscal year 2025 a revenue of $6.95 billion and employs approximately 18,000 people worldwide, focusing on analytical and clinical laboratory technologies and services.
