Anik Devaughn, founder of Wired to Create, built Karo, an AI-native commerce platform, without hiring design, content, or operations staff. Devaughn views AI as an extension of his own core competencies, enabling a single individual to manage functions typically handled by a full department.

Devaughn emphasizes transparency in AI usage, noting that his AI operator is identified as such. This strategy challenges the conventional view of one-person operations as merely a temporary phase before significant hiring.

While AI significantly boosts output and growth potential without increasing headcount, its capabilities have limitations. Tasks requiring nuanced judgment, relationship building, and high-level creative output still necessitate human oversight. Expertise is crucial for evaluating AI-generated work and for the founder's strategic direction in building the company.
