AI Coding Firm Cursor Launches India-Specific Plan
US-based AI coding company Cursor has introduced an India-exclusive subscription plan, Cursor Start, priced at ₹649 per month. The move aims to strengthen the company's position in India's rapidly growing AI market.

US-based AI coding firm Cursor has launched an India-exclusive subscription plan, Cursor Start, priced at ₹649 per month. This strategic move targets India, which has become Cursor's third-largest market globally.
The Cursor Start plan sits between the company's free and Pro tiers, offering access to its Grok 4.5 model and Composer coding model. It provides more agent requests than the free tier and includes always-on cloud agents capable of building, testing, and opening pull requests independently. The plan also features the Cursor for iOS app for remote agent steering and extensibility through plugins and other integrations.
India represents Cursor's third-largest market worldwide, with its user base tripling to over 3 million developers in the past year. The company has observed that Indian developers exhibit the highest concentration of power users on its platform, making more agent requests per capita than anywhere else.
Cursor's expansion in India reflects a broader trend of global AI companies increasing their focus on the Indian market. Competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic have also launched India-specific plans and pricing structures. India's AI ecosystem is projected to grow significantly in the coming years, making it an increasingly attractive market for technology firms.
