AI developer Anthropic files for Nasdaq IPO
Anthropic has published its S-1 filing with the SEC, signaling its intent to list shares on the Nasdaq stock exchange.

Anthropic, the developer behind the Claude AI model, has officially moved toward an initial public offering (IPO) by making its prospectus public. The company intends to list its Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol "ANT."
The financial disclosures reveal a period of rapid growth coupled with significant capital expenditure. For the first half of 2026, the company reported $16.3 billion in revenue, contrasted against a net loss of $80.7 billion. The company noted that these losses were largely driven by the fair value adjustments of outstanding convertible promissory notes as its valuation climbed to $965 billion.
In its risk disclosures, Anthropic highlighted the existential concerns surrounding advanced AI, echoing internal and external debates about the potential for technology to cause catastrophic harm. The company explicitly warned shareholders that its business is capital-intensive and that its ability to sustain growth depends on increasing operational efficiency.
No official pricing or debut date has been set. The company signaled that it expects costs to remain high as it scales its operations and prepares for life as a publicly traded firm.
