AI firm DeepSeek scales up workforce in China
Beijing-based DeepSeek is executing a large-scale hiring drive to bolster its research and computing infrastructure capabilities.

DeepSeek is significantly expanding its headcount across its Beijing and Hangzhou offices. According to a report by Ifeng Tech, the recruitment drive aligns with new strategic growth plans presented to the company's investors.
The hiring surge follows an initiative announced in June to at least double the size of all departments. The company is seeking talent across research, computing infrastructure, and corporate operations, with specific recruitment targets for data-center facilities in Ulanqab.
By September, internal demand for new staff had increased to approximately 150 open positions. The aggressive expansion indicates an effort to rapidly scale computing capacity and maintain technical momentum in the competitive landscape of generative AI.
