AI Firm Fireworks Valued at $17.5 Billion After Funding Round
AI company Fireworks has raised $1.5 billion, reaching a $17.5 billion valuation, as businesses increasingly seek more affordable artificial intelligence models.

AI startup Fireworks, which provides cloud services for open-source artificial intelligence models, has secured $1.5 billion in new funding, valuing the company at $17.5 billion. The funding round highlights a growing trend of businesses looking for cost-effective AI solutions.
The company reported that its annualized revenue has now surpassed $1 billion, a fivefold increase compared to last year. This surge in revenue signals strong demand for alternatives to more expensive proprietary AI models.
"We are seeing super-linear demand," stated CEO Lin Qiao. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have this kind of market."
While Fireworks operates on a smaller scale than major AI research labs, its rapid growth indicates that many companies are reassessing their reliance on high-cost AI models. The startup competes in the cloud AI services sector with giants like Amazon and Google.
Fireworks has also expanded into providing GPUs for AI model training and has formed strategic partnerships, including one with Microsoft, to enhance its service offerings and market reach.
