AI Governance Software Market Forecast to Reach $12.5 Billion by 2030
A report from AI Markets Group projects 51% annual growth in AI governance platforms as enterprises shift focus from policy creation to technical enforcement.
The market for AI governance software, designed to manage, constrain, and verify enterprise AI usage, is expected to grow from $3.6 billion in 2027 to $12.5 billion by 2030, according to new research from AI Markets Group (AIMG). The projected 51% compound annual growth rate reflects a move by major enterprises to move beyond theoretical policy-making into active runtime control.
Research indicates that while 96.5% of large US public companies have adopted AI governance policies, implementation remains a challenge. AIMG reports that 46.3% of senior AI executives have identified policy bypasses, while 86% of IT leaders have observed AI tools accessing sensitive data outside their intended scope. The disparity between policy and practice is driving demand for automated enforcement tools.
Microsoft, Databricks, and Salesforce currently lead the market. AIMG suggests that most governance spending will be absorbed into broader security and hyperscaler platforms, with stand-alone vendors likely to face consolidation by 2028. "Governance is becoming a control plane," said Peyman Mestchian, AIMG Chair, noting that the vendors who control enforcement points will capture the majority of market value.
