AI inference startup Fal doubles valuation to $16 billion
San Francisco-based AI infrastructure firm Fal has secured $1.3 billion in a Series F funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners.

Fal, a platform for hosting and operating AI models for image, video, and audio generation, has raised $1.3 billion in its Series F funding round. The deal pushes the company’s valuation to $16 billion, doubling the $8 billion figure reported in April. Including its Series E round, Fal has now raised a total of $1.65 billion.
The startup provides managed APIs that allow developers to execute AI models. Fal reported an annualized revenue of over $800 million earlier this year, reflecting strong demand for inference services—the process of running trained models to generate outputs. Despite this revenue growth, the sector faces margin pressures due to the high costs associated with leasing or purchasing computing infrastructure.
Founded in 2021 by Burkay Gur and Gorkem Yurtseven, Fal operates in a sector with growing competition, including companies like Fireworks AI, Baseten, and Modal. As the industry scales, investors continue to weigh the demand for AI outputs against the underlying operational costs of the necessary hardware.
