AI infrastructure and specialized tech lead US startup funding
US startups secured major capital injections this week, with AI developers and specialized infrastructure firms dominating the list of top ten funding rounds.

A report from Crunchbase News highlights a surge in large-scale venture financing for US-based companies, with the artificial intelligence sector remaining the primary driver of capital flow. Santa Clara-based Tenstorrent secured the largest round of the week, bringing in $1.5 billion in Series E funding at a $6.2 billion valuation.
Foundational AI and infrastructure optimization were key themes, exemplified by Flapping Airplanes' $1 billion Series A round and ASI’s $325 million financing for critical infrastructure operations. Market observers noted that investors continue to prioritize companies bridging the gap between AI software and physical applications, such as robotics and defense tech.
The top ten list also included diverse entries in sectors ranging from space-based GPS technology via Xona to biotech firms Pathos AI and Star Therapeutics. The data covers announced funding rounds exceeding $100 million between October 17 and October 23, 2026.
