AI Infrastructure Funding Rounds Lead Week's Largest Deals

AI infrastructure companies led the largest venture rounds this week in the U.S., with two deals exceeding a billion dollars. Data center and cloud provider Crusoe secured $3 billion in financing, while AI infrastructure firm Fluidstack raised $1.5 billion.

Crusoe, based in Denver, initially used stranded natural gas for cryptocurrency mining but has shifted to become a major AI cloud and data center provider serving clients like OpenAI, Microsoft, and Meta. The company's latest Series F round, co-led by Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners, brought its valuation to $30 billion.

New York-based Fluidstack focuses on providing large-scale GPU and data center infrastructure for demanding AI workloads. A private equity round led by Jane Street Capital provided $1.5 billion in funding, valuing the company at $18 billion. These significant investments reflect the surging demand for the computing power required by artificial intelligence.

Other notable rounds included $300 million for AI infrastructure startup Gimlet Labs and a similar $300 million raise for cybersecurity firm Upwind Security. The funding landscape also saw significant capital flow into food, HR software, payments, and healthcare sectors, indicating broad investor interest across technology-driven industries.
