The patch was manufactured using techniques that allow for the printing of organic electrochemical transistors onto flexible materials. Sihong Wang, a co-senior author of the study, stated the aim is to make wearable and implantable devices smarter, offering individuals an integrated, instantaneous medical insight. This technology could significantly enhance the monitoring of chronic conditions and facilitate early intervention.
