AI Science Startup Drylab Raises $3 Million in Seed Funding

Drylab, a company focused on building AI agents for scientific research, has closed a $3 million seed funding round. The investment was led by Singapore-based venture capital firm Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, with participation from software company PatSnap.

The company stated the funds will be used to hire sales staff, expand its engineering and biology teams, and pursue security and compliance certifications. Launched in February 2026, Drylab has reportedly signed paying customers across the US, Europe, and Asia.

Founded in 2025 by John Phan, Huy Phan, and Nhi Nguyen, Drylab's software is designed to run bioinformatics workflows using scientific tools and databases on private infrastructure. The company has not specified which compliance standards it is pursuing.

Vertex Ventures invests in early-stage technology companies in Southeast Asia and India. This funding aims to support Drylab's growth and further development of its AI solutions for scientific discovery.
