AI startup Emergent has secured $130 million in funding, pushing its valuation over $1.5 billion and making it India's 132nd unicorn.
AI startup Emergent has joined India's unicorn club after a $130 million funding round valued the company at over $1.5 billion. This achievement makes Emergent the sixth Indian unicorn of 2026 and the third AI-focused company to surpass a $1 billion valuation.
The funding round, led by Creaegis with participation from SoftBank and Lightspeed, will be used to scale hiring, AI research, and international expansion. Founded in 2024, Emergent initially focused on "vibe coding" but has evolved into an AI ecosystem that enables businesses to build operational agents.
The company reports that revenue and paying users have quadrupled since its last funding round, with customer acquisition costs falling and retention remaining strong. Emergent is currently generating $120 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), with approximately 66% derived from North America and Europe.
