Two previously prominent tools, OpenAI's Sora and Google Veo's API, have been discontinued. Simultaneously, leading competitors Google Veo 3.1 and Kling 3.0 have advanced their quality, now offering native audio alongside 4K resolution.

The report details that Google shut down its Veo 3 API at the end of June 2026, replacing it with Veo 3.1.
