Aimpoint joins initiative to build Swedish semiconductor supply chain
Aimpoint is contributing technical requirements to a national project aimed at developing a domestic semiconductor supply chain for Sweden's defense sector.
The Swedish defense industry currently relies on a limited number of international manufacturers for advanced electronics. Aimpoint has joined a national initiative designed to establish a domestic semiconductor value chain to reduce this dependency.
Aimpoint’s involvement centers on defining the performance requirements for future semiconductors in real-world defense applications. Jonas Nilefell, Senior Systems Engineer at Aimpoint, is responsible for integrating these operational needs into research efforts, focusing on testing protocols and technological standards.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between early-stage research and commercial production. By defining clear requirements for the technology, Aimpoint intends to ensure that the resulting semiconductor products are suitable for integration into defense-grade hardware.
