Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky has implemented an artificial intelligence system designed to significantly reduce his participation in company meetings. Chesky stated at the Skift Global Forum that many CEOs of large companies struggle to stay fully informed about their organizations, often relying on meetings as a primary method for information gathering.
Chesky revealed he built a personal tool, which he termed an "intelligence corpus" or "brain," trained on approximately 18,000 Keynote presentations and 50,000 Google Docs, along with other internal company materials. His objective was to establish a method for monitoring company activities without the necessity of constant in-person or virtual gatherings.
"My entire job was: how can I not need meetings to know what is going on inside the company?" Chesky said. He has reportedly made it a personal priority to become proficient in AI, aiming to leverage the technology for more efficient leadership.
The AI system is reportedly a personal tool for Chesky's use and is not intended for external release to customers. The initiative reflects a broader trend of technology adoption aimed at streamlining executive functions and optimizing time management within large corporations.
