Airbnb Expands OpenAI Deal for GPT-6 Astra Access
Travel platform Airbnb has expanded its partnership with AI company OpenAI. The expansion grants Airbnb's teams broader access to OpenAI's newer language models.
US-based travel and accommodation platform Airbnb has expanded its agreement with AI company OpenAI, the company announced on September 23. The deal enhances access for Airbnb's engineering and product teams to OpenAI's advanced language models, including GPT-6 Astra, via OpenAI's application programming interfaces and Amazon Bedrock.
This expanded agreement provides Airbnb with access to OpenAI's latest AI models. Previously, Airbnb had utilized OpenAI's technology for software development and remote AI agents. Furthermore, the company integrates OpenAI models into various operations, such as search functionalities, fraud prevention, guest and host support, and insurance claims processing.
OpenAI has described GPT-6 Astra as a new generation of intelligence. This expanded deal illustrates a pathway for enterprises to access OpenAI's frontier models as a managed service on Amazon Web Services. Airbnb's ability to integrate these models across its operations highlights the growing significance of AI within the travel sector.
