Airbus Board Leadership Changes: Moraleda Appointed Chair, Fouquet and Menegaux Nominated

Airbus SE has announced a series of significant changes to its Board of Directors, effective October 1, 2026.

Amparo Moraleda is set to assume the role of Chair, taking over from René Obermann, who will step down to focus on his mandate with SAP. Christophe Fouquet, CEO of ASML, has been co-opted onto the Board to complete Obermann's remaining term. Florent Menegaux, CEO of Michelin, has been selected to succeed Jean-Pierre Clamadieu.

Both Fouquet and Menegaux will seek full three-year mandates at the company's 2027 Annual General Meeting. Additionally, Mark Dunkerley has been appointed Chair of the Remuneration, Nomination and Governance Committee and will serve as Lead Independent Director.

Moraleda, whose chairmanship begins in October 2026, and Oliver Zipse will also seek renewed three-year mandates at the 2027 AGM. These appointments reflect an ongoing process of leadership transition and governance enhancement within Airbus.
