AITO M8 SUV Exterior Revealed with New Color Options
AITO, the automotive brand backed by Huawei and SAIC Motor, has officially unveiled the exterior of its new flagship SUV, the M8. The vehicle will be available in two new color schemes: "Sky Curtain Blue" and "Cang Rong Green."
Chinese technology outlet IT Home reports that AITO, a joint venture between Huawei and SAIC Motor, has officially revealed the exterior of its new M8 flagship SUV. The company has introduced two new exterior color options for the vehicle: "Sky Curtain Blue" (天幕青) and "Cang Rong Green" (苍戎绿).
The SUV measures 5190 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1795 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3105 mm. It will be offered in both 5-seater and 6-seater configurations. All variants share a maximum speed of 200 km/h.
According to filings with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the M8 lineup will include three models: a pure electric version and two extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) utilizing either lithium iron phosphate or ternary lithium batteries. The pure electric version has a curb weight ranging from 2745 to 2820 kg.
Both the pure electric and EREV versions feature a dual-motor setup. The pure electric model's front motor has a rated power of 62 kW and a peak power of 160 kW, while the rear motor is rated at 73 kW with a peak output of 227 kW. The EREV variants boast a low WLTC fuel consumption of 0.18-0.22 liters per 100 km.
All AITO M8 models support external charging. Optional features include various wheel rim designs, side steps, and ETC devices. The vehicles are equipped with an Event Data Recorder (EDR) system, and Bosch Automotive Parts (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. supplies the ABS control units.
