Chinese tech publication IT Home reported on October 7 that the production version of the AIVA ME7 has been spotted undergoing road tests without camouflage. The leaked images reveal a design that continues the styling cues from the AIVA Origin Concept car.
The AIVA ME7 is characterized as a crossover, blending attributes of both sedans and SUVs. Notably, the vehicle is equipped with a LIDAR sensor on its roof, suggesting capabilities for advanced driver-assistance systems. The model is expected to be offered in both fully electric and range-extended electric vehicle (EREV) configurations.
The AIVA ME7 made its global debut in Paris at the end of September, marking the first production vehicle from the AIVA brand. Manufacturing is slated to take place in Chongqing. AIVA is a joint venture involving local investors and the automaker Seres.
The car's design is reportedly inspired by nature, and its lighting system, dubbed "Intelligent Light Eyes," is capable of responding to gestures. AIVA's strategy emphasizes the role of artificial intelligence in vehicle development. The company aims to target the mainstream market segment priced above 200,000 yuan.
