Aker BP Appoints New Executive Management Team, Reorganizes Operations
Aker BP has appointed a new executive management team effective January 1, 2027. The company is also restructuring its operating model around its value chain to enhance collaboration and efficiency.

Aker BP announced on October 2, 2026, the appointment of a new executive management team, which will assume its duties on January 1, 2027. Concurrently, the company is implementing a new operating model structured around its entire value chain, from exploration to production.
The reorganization aims to strengthen collaboration, reduce complexity, and improve execution. This new model will leverage Aker BP's decade-long experience with industrial data and artificial intelligence, along with its established partnerships.
"The changes we are making will strengthen our position for long-term value creation on the Norwegian continental shelf," stated CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik. "Tomorrow's shelf requires something different from us than yesterday's did. We are now positioning the company for that future." Hersvik also expressed gratitude to the outgoing management team for laying the groundwork for these developments.
The executive management team will be led by CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik. The structure divides responsibilities into value chain functions, including leadership for Find & Develop, Build, Produce, Optimize, and PDO Projects, as well as strategic and support functions such as CFO, Services, Digital, Strategic Innovation, and Transformation.
The company is collaborating closely with employee representatives and safety delegates during this transition. The new operating model is intended to accelerate project maturation and improve cost-effectiveness throughout the value chain.
