Aker Solutions has signed an agreement with Microsoft to advance the maturity, bankability, and delivery of carbon capture and storage (CCS) and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) projects worldwide.
Under the agreement, Aker Solutions will engage with developers, emitters, transport and storage providers, industry stakeholders, and governments to support project development. The goal is to reduce execution risk, strengthen investment readiness, including potential CDR credits, and accelerate progress towards final investment decisions (FID).
The collaboration combines Microsoft's technological expertise with Aker Solutions' experience in CCS and CDR solutions. The intention is to create scalable models for the deployment of new climate technologies.
This partnership supports efforts to achieve global climate goals by providing concrete solutions for reducing industrial emissions and removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
