Akeso: Ivonesimab Showed Overall Survival Benefit in First-Line NSCLC

Akeso, Inc. has announced positive overall survival (OS) results from the randomized, double-blind, multicenter registrational Phase III HARMONi-2 study (AK112-303). The findings were presented at the 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer and indicate a benefit for ivonesimab compared to pembrolizumab when used as a first-line treatment for PD-L1-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

The HARMONi-2 study enrolled patients with PD-L1-positive cancer. This registrational trial aimed to confirm the efficacy and safety profile of ivonesimab. Akeso stated that the results are significant, potentially offering a new therapeutic option for individuals battling advanced lung cancer.

Lung cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally, making the development of effective therapies a critical area of research.
