Akko Launches New U1 Switch Series for Mechanical Keyboards
Technology firm Akko is introducing its new U1 series of mechanical keyboard switches. The switches feature material innovations and structural refinements to enhance the typing experience.

SHENZHEN, China โ July 17, 2026 โ As Akko approaches its 10th anniversary, the company has launched the U1 series of mechanical keyboard switches. This next-generation lineup aims to deliver an improved typing experience through material innovation, structural improvements, and acoustic tuning.
The U1 series switches utilize a newly developed POM-blend material, enhancing smoothness and consistency. This material retains self-lubricating properties while offering a cleaner sound profile and a more refined feel. A redesigned stem and an optimized rail structure reduce contact area, contributing to a more focused and lower-pitched, "thocky" sound with each keystroke. An upgraded POM top housing also works to suppress spring ping and resonance.
Each switch comes factory-lubed, eliminating the need for manual lubrication and ensuring a smooth, stable feel out of the box. The Creamy Yellow U1 variant, in particular, includes internal structural upgrades designed to balance different user preferences for switch acoustics. It offers more stable performance across various keyboard configurations and improved compatibility. An integrated light-guiding column enhances the uniformity of RGB lighting effects.
