Akko Launches U1 Switch Series for Mechanical Keyboards
Akko has introduced its new U1 series of mechanical keyboard switches, designed to enhance typing experience through material innovation and acoustic optimization.
SHENZHEN, China, July 17, 2026 – Ahead of its 10th anniversary, Akko has launched the U1 series of mechanical keyboard switches. The switches utilize a new POM alloy material, which the company states offers increased smoothness, consistency, and improved acoustics compared to previous POM materials.
The Akko U1 series switches feature a redesigned stem and an optimized rail structure, intended to provide a more precise and deeper sound with each keystroke. Akko reports this design also reduces the contact surface with the rail, aiming to minimize spring ping. The first model in the series is the U1 Creamy Yellow, which combines the lively character of its V3 version with the deeper acoustic profile of the V5. It is engineered for stable performance and enhanced RGB lighting compatibility.
These new switches are factory-lubricated to reduce dry friction out of the box. The series also includes U1 Creamy Purple, Piano U1, and Crystal Silver U1, each offering specific improvements to sound, feel, and activation speed. Akko also announced that the U1 switches will be integrated into upcoming keyboard models, including the 5075 V5 and other products in its V5 line.
The U1 series switches are available through Akko's global distribution networks. The company has also updated its packaging to standardized boxes containing 100 switches, reducing waste and improving convenience for users.
