Alamo Group (NYSE: ALG) has announced the acquisition of Econ Engineering, a United Kingdom-based firm specializing in winter maintenance vehicles and highway equipment. The move is designed to integrate Econ’s expertise into Alamo’s industrial equipment division, broadening its service offerings in the European market.
Econ Engineering provides specialized machinery for road gritting and snow clearing, assets that align with Alamo’s existing operations in municipal and industrial maintenance equipment. By acquiring the company, Alamo aims to strengthen its competitive position within the UK, leveraging Econ's established infrastructure and local expertise.
The acquisition reflects Alamo Group's ongoing strategy of growth through consolidation in the machinery sector.
