Alamo Group acquires UK-based Econ Engineering Group
U.S.-based Alamo Group has acquired Econ Engineering Group, a UK manufacturer specializing in road maintenance vehicles and equipment rental.
Alamo Group, a U.S. manufacturer of industrial and vegetation management equipment, has finalized the acquisition of Econ Engineering Group Limited. MCF served as the exclusive financial advisor for the transaction.
Headquartered in Ripon, North Yorkshire, Econ produces a range of road maintenance equipment, including gritters and de-icing vehicles, and maintains a rental fleet of approximately 1,300 vocational trucks. Founded in 1969, the company provides essential machinery for year-round infrastructure maintenance.
This acquisition integrates Econ’s specialized roadway technology into Alamo Group’s broader industrial portfolio. The move follows a trend of infrastructure equipment manufacturers seeking to expand their service capabilities in European markets through strategic buyouts.
