Albertsons, Walmart Among Retailers at Responsible Seafood Summit

The Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) has announced that major international retailers, foodservice companies, and seafood marketplace representatives will participate in the 2026 Responsible Seafood Summit. The event is scheduled to take place from September 21–24 in Bangkok, Thailand. The summit aims to bring together stakeholders across the value chain to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of responsible seafood.

Confirmed marketplace representatives include prominent names such as Albertsons, ALDI, and Walmart, among others. GSA stated that the broad representation reflects the summit's significance as a key forum for understanding market priorities and advancing responsible seafood sourcing.

"The seafood industry is constantly evolving, and understanding market priorities is critical for businesses across the value chain," said Steve Hart, Senior Vice President of Market Development at GSA. He highlighted that the diverse global representation provides a unique opportunity for industry leaders to exchange perspectives and collaborate on solutions for a more responsible and resilient seafood future.

The summit will feature discussions on industry trends, market insights, innovation, sustainability, and collaboration within the global seafood value chain. Attendees are expected to include producers, processors, retailers, foodservice operators, NGOs, certification organizations, and researchers.
