Aldi opens Germany's cheapest Christmas market

Aldi Süd has launched an event billed as Germany's cheapest Christmas market, taking place in the parking lots of select stores. The initiative aims to provide an affordable alternative to traditional Christmas markets.

The centerpiece of the offering is mulled wine, priced at one euro. The markets also feature other festive treats such as crêpes and sausages, all offered at competitive prices, with Aldi seeking to make the holiday season more accessible.

The markets are scheduled to take place in four cities: Cologne and Munich from November 12-14, and Stuttgart and Frankfurt from November 19-21. Operating hours are from 3 PM to 9 PM. Family-friendly activities, including a carousel and photo opportunities, will also be available.

Aldi Süd has stated that all proceeds from the market events will be donated to charity, supporting local youth organizations and projects for homeless children and adolescents. The company also highlighted that products used at the markets are primarily sourced from Aldi's own product lines.
