Alert Logic Introduces Cloud Insight for AWS
Alert Logic has introduced Cloud Insight, a product designed to identify vulnerabilities in EC2 instances and configuration issues within AWS accounts. The product is currently available with a 30-day free trial.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the introduction of Alert Logic's Cloud Insight product. This tool is engineered to detect vulnerabilities in operating systems and applications running on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances, as well as identify configuration issues within AWS accounts and services.
The Cloud Insight product evaluates an AWS environment by gathering data from EC2, Amazon VPC, Auto-Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, IAM, and RDS APIs. Alert Logic is currently offering a 30-day free trial of Cloud Insight.
To begin using the product, users log into the Cloud Insight web portal and grant the service access to their AWS environment via an IAM role. Step-by-step instructions are provided within the product to guide this setup process.
The product automatically discovers all hosts and services associated with a customer's AWS environment. Subsequently, Cloud Insight creates a dedicated security subnet within the user's VPC and deploys a virtual Alert Logic appliance within this subnet. Discovery results are presented within minutes via a topology view, illustrating the relationships between AWS assets. This view updates dynamically as the AWS environment changes. Users can then select specific resources, such as an entire region, VPC, or subnet, to be included in continuous assessments.
