Alessandro Michele is stepping down as Gucci's Creative Director, the company announced on November 23, 2022. His tenure, beginning in January 2015, marked a significant period for the brand.

Milan – Gucci announced on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, that Alessandro Michele is departing from his role as Creative Director. Michele had been at the creative helm of the Kering-owned fashion house since January 21, 2015.
During his eight-year tenure, Michele played a pivotal role in shaping Gucci's modern identity and aesthetic. The company cited "different perspectives" as the reason for the end of his over 20-year commitment to the brand, calling it an "extraordinary journey."
Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci, thanked Michele for his vision and dedication. François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO of Kering, expressed gratitude for the passion and imagination Michele brought to the house.
Gucci's design office will continue to lead the brand's creative direction in the interim. The company has not yet announced a successor.
