Alex Cooper's Unwell Valued at $500 Million After WTSL Investment
Alex Cooper's media and lifestyle startup, Unwell, has received its first outside investment from WTSL, valuing the company at $500 million. The company has been self-funded and profitable since its launch.

Alex Cooper's media and lifestyle startup, Unwell, has secured its first external investment from investment firm WTSL, giving the company a valuation of $500 million. Unwell has operated as a self-funded and profitable entity since its launch in August 2023.
The company, co-led by Cooper and her husband Matt Kaplan, is recognized for its podcast slate, including "Call Her Daddy," as well as its wellness beverages and television and film production. The investment from WTSL, led by CEO Patrick Whitesell, marks a significant shift for the company. WTSL is backed by private equity firm Silver Lake and also partners with Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions and Universal Music Group. The specific amount of the investment has not been disclosed.
The funding announcement follows recent public controversies. In November, Matt Kaplan faced accusations of creating a toxic work environment, which a representative denied. Cooper has also been publicly involved in disputes with influencer Alix Earle and former co-host Sofia Franklyn.
Unwell and WTSL intend to leverage the investment to fuel brand growth, including potential acquisitions. WTSL will also provide expertise and industry relationships to expand Unwell's video and consumer business.
