AlexCar Offers Guidance on Drying Car Seat Covers
AlexCar, a retailer of automotive accessories, has published a guide on the proper methods for drying car seat covers post-wash. The advice emphasizes air drying to prevent damage from heat.

AlexCar, a seller of automotive accessories, has provided guidance to customers on how to properly dry car seat covers after washing. The general recommendation is to air dry most seat covers to prevent shrinkage, warping, or other damages potentially caused by high heat in a dryer.
The company suggests using a gentle wash cycle with cold water and a mild detergent. After washing, excess moisture should be gently squeezed out, not wrung. The safest drying method involves laying the covers flat on a drying rack or similar surface to allow air circulation on both sides. Direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent color fading, though a fan on a low setting can speed up the process.
Using a tumble dryer is generally not recommended unless the material explicitly allows, such as some 100% cotton or polyester blend covers without elastic components. If a dryer must be used, AlexCar advises utilizing only the no-heat or air fluff setting for a very brief period. High heat should always be avoided.
The company stresses the importance of checking the manufacturer's instructions before washing and drying. Ensuring covers are completely dry before reinstallation also helps prevent potential mustiness or mold growth. Proper drying contributes to the longevity and appearance of the seat covers.
