Algo Grande Copper finds copper grades 100 metres shallower
Algo Grande Copper reports new assay results from its Adelita Project in Mexico. Drill hole AG-CG-PH2-002 intersected significant copper grades.
Vancouver, BC – Algo Grande Copper Corp. has announced initial assay results from its Phase II diamond drilling program at the Cerro Grande skarn discovery within the Adelita Project in Sonora, Mexico. Drill hole AG-CG-PH2-002 intersected 30.23 metres grading 1.5% copper equivalent (CuEq), including a high-grade core of 3.55 metres grading 9.4% CuEq and a 1.2-metre interval grading 15.8% CuEq.
The intercept was encountered 100 metres vertically shallower than previous historical intersections, confirming the continuity of the high-grade, multi-horizon skarn mineralization. The mineralization includes copper, silver, and gold, with locally anomalous zinc found within the highest-grade interval.
The drill hole reached a final depth of 661.80 metres, ending in granodiorite below the prospective limestone package. Assays are still pending for core below 179 metres, where visually mineralized intervals have been logged. The company stated these results suggest the drill hole is approaching the proximal part of the mineralizing system.
The reported findings are expected to expand the targeted mineralized footprint along a 2.5-kilometre magnetic corridor identified by recent surveys. Algo Grande Copper is continuing its systematic expansion of the Cerro Grande discovery.
