Alibaba Group Chairman Joe Tsai and his wife Clara Wu Tsai have announced they are divorcing after nearly 30 years of marriage. The couple released a joint statement Saturday confirming their mutual decision.
According to the statement, their relationship has evolved into a partnership focused on shared business interests and co-parenting. While they have grown apart personally, they intend to maintain a respectful and professional relationship.
Tsai's role as Chairman of Alibaba Group will remain unchanged, and he has no plans to sell any of his shares in the company due to the divorce. The separation will also not impact their current management positions at BSE Global, which owns the Brooklyn Nets basketball team, or the New York Liberty.
Tsai is also the majority owner of the Brooklyn Nets.
