Alibaba readies Qwen Go AI assistant for consumer services
Alibaba is preparing to introduce Qwen Go, a personal AI assistant designed to handle tasks like flight delay compensation claims, shopping refunds, and bookings.

Alibaba is preparing to launch Qwen Go, a personal AI assistant capable of managing various consumer-facing tasks. The assistant can handle claims for flight delays, process shopping refunds, and make bookings for services such as car maintenance and sports venues.
Recent reports from October 13 detail trials where the AI assistant accessed services, compared options, and contacted customer support on behalf of users. The system aims to streamline complex interactions and reduce the burden on consumers.
In one observed demonstration, Qwen Go identified an eligible flight delay based on the user's travel history and successfully negotiated a cash compensation of RMB 70. When direct phone contact with customer support failed, the assistant seamlessly switched to text-based communication to resolve the issue. Users could monitor the AI's actions on screen and intervene if necessary.
The Qwen Go assistant builds upon Alibaba's existing service ecosystem, integrating with platforms for e-commerce, transportation, and delivery. This expansion leverages AI to automate and simplify everyday consumer needs.
