Alibaba reportedly testing tablet-like AI computer

Alibaba Cloud's Wuying team is reportedly developing an AI device named QwenBook, designed to resemble a tablet and centered around native agent functionalities. The project integrates the team's existing cloud-computer and device-to-cloud capabilities.

The early-stage prototype is intended for office work and currently connects with the Qwen3.8-Max and Qwen3.8-Flash AI models. Planned system applications include features like meeting transcription, a wiki, smart folders, email, and personal note and zone management. Alibaba is also collaborating with Kingsoft to integrate WPS office software.

While a demonstration version is slated for unveiling at the Yunqi Conference, the full product is not anticipated to be available until late 2026 or early 2027, according to reports.
