Alibaba's Amap Introduces Real-Time 3D Scene Reconstruction Technology
Alibaba's location services platform, Amap, has unveiled ABot-Recon, a technology capable of reconstructing large-scale 3D scenes in real time using only 12 frames.

BEIJING – Amap, Alibaba's mapping and navigation platform, has introduced ABot-Recon. This new streaming 3D reconstruction model can generate 3D scenes covering over 10,000 frames in real time, requiring only 12 consecutive frames as input.
The technology aims to significantly reduce the amount of data needed for detailed 3D model creation and enhance processing speed. This could impact areas such as autonomous driving and augmented reality applications where rapid and precise spatial understanding is critical.
Amap stated that ABot-Recon can produce high-quality 3D reconstructions efficiently. This capability may reshape how digital environments are built and perceived.
The company has not yet provided details on the commercial rollout or integration timeline for ABot-Recon within its existing services.
