At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) held in Shanghai, Chinese payment service Alipay and AI company Yue have announced a system-level cooperation. This partnership will allow Alipay's AI version, "Abiao," and Yue's large language model, along with its native AI terminals, to achieve cross-device interconnection.

In the future, users will be able to command their AI assistants via voice to perform tasks such as ordering food or booking travel. The AI will then relay the request to Alipay's "Abiao" for execution, eliminating the need for users to manually open separate applications.

The initial phase of the collaboration will integrate high-frequency daily services including food delivery, ride-hailing, and local lifestyle services. The companies emphasized security measures: Yue's model is responsible for understanding commands only and does not access Alipay accounts, funds, or private data. "Abiao" handles task execution but does not control terminal hardware or third-party applications.

Key steps like payments and authorizations require explicit manual confirmation from the user. Alipay intends to expand this cooperation in the future to include AI assistants integrated into vehicle infotainment systems, smart speakers, and smart glasses.
